ABOUT THE ARTIST JOE BOURNE

 

Arizona artist, Joe Bourne is an international Jazz, Blues,  vocalist. (www.joebourne.com) Since the early nineties he has added painting to his repertoire.  He resides in the southwest and derives his inspiration from his world travels and the forms and rhythms of deserts, mountains, big skies and canyons.

The original artwork is created with the encaustic medium or acrylic medium.  Encaustic is a beeswax based paint that is kept molten on a heated palette.  It is applied to a surface and reheated to fuse the paint into a uniform enamel-like and 3D finish.                                                                            

An image of the original artwork is captured and transformed into the unusual plaques that are offered within this website.
